Pulastic Recycling in Australia – Closing the Loop
Aura Sports is proud to introduce a practical end-of-life recycling pathway for Pulastic sports flooring systems within Australia.

a new recycling pathway
The recycling process involves the controlled removal of the existing Pulastic system using specialist floor stripping equipment, allowing the material to be lifted efficiently from the substrate with minimal contamination. The recovered material is then processed through industrial granulation equipment, reducing the flooring into reusable rubber granulate.
This material can then be redirected into local Australian manufacturing streams, where it is reused in the production of new rubber-based products such as acoustic underlays, shock pads, and technical matting systems. Facilities such as A1 Rubber on the Gold Coast are capable of reprocessing this material through compression moulding and rubber product manufacturing processes, providing a genuine circular reuse outcome.
This approach mirrors the intent of the Pulastic “P2P” recycling system in Europe, adapted to suit the Australian market through locally available infrastructure. It allows existing Pulastic installations to be responsibly reclaimed and reintroduced into new applications, reducing waste and supporting sustainable project outcomes.
As more of the early installed Pulastic systems in Australia approach renewal, this recycling pathway provides facility owners with a viable option to minimise environmental impact while upgrading their flooring systems. Aura Sports is committed to continuing to develop and refine these processes as part of our long-term approach to sustainable sports flooring solutions.
